Humanities and Inhumanities

This week I recommend Anthony Grafton to you again. Here Grafton (History, Princeton) takes up Sophi’s own message, The Humanities Matter, from an American institutional perspective not that far from our own and engages Louis Menand’s (English, Harvard) new book on the Humanities and the marketplace. I was swept up in Grafton’s almost poetic defense of the humanities scholar. His arguments are worth reading, and remaking.
